Part Three, AN ALLIANCE BETWEEN THE TWO POWERS

"The mountains could be a reference to pagan Rome and the Whore a reference to (the) apostate (Roman Catholic Church). In this case here sitting on the Beast would not indicate a geographical location but an alliance between the two powers. The Whore (Roman Christianity) would be allied with the Beast (Pagan Rome) in persecuting "the saints and . . . martyrs of Jesus." (Note that the Whore also sits on many waters, which we are told are many peoples, cf. 17:15-- the context makes it clear that here her sitting on something does not refer to a geographical location)." -Estragon

Mat 12:36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

Because all I had to do in the quote above was to change the word "Jerusalem" to the "Roman Catholic Church" and it becomes absolutely totally obvious exactly how this pronouncement condemns the Roman Catholic Church as the whore of Revelations!

Now, if it's still not that clear, I'll try to explain it...

Rev 17:9 "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen (1. Egypt, 2. Assyria, 3. Babylonia, 4. Persia (Medio-Persian), 5. Greek), and one is (6. Rome), and the other is not yet come (The restored Roman Empire- the upcoming one from out of the European Common Market!); and when he cometh, he must continue a short space (the new Roman Empire will not last long before anti-Christ comes in). 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth (out of the new Roman Empire), and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Now, (I hope you don't mind if I jump around a bit with your statements) you said- "She Reigneth? Vatican City has no power over any other nations; it certainly does not reign over them (or the geopolitical state of the world would be very different)."

Remember that God looks at the union and the implications of the union as a whole! For example...

Mat 23:34 "Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar."

When God speaks about Babylon, and the whore, He sees them and judges them together- as one.

An interesting point in prophecy about the political versus the spiritual aspects of the relationship of the beast and the whore, the beast, the political faction, will rise up against the whore- the spiritual faction...

Rev 17:16 "And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled."

We interpret these ten horns, according to verse 12, as ten kings. (These ten kings, of which number- ten, in prophecy, usually alludes to an unspecified number, or a large number). These ten kings of the New World Order, will at first consort with the false prophet (Rev. 16:13), and later turn on the religious faction. This religious faction, because of the scriptures confirming the Roman Catholic Church to be of the lineage of Satan, we expect to be led by the pope as the false prophet. (Unfortunately, I do not currently have a copy on hand, having loaned it out, of a book called "The Keys to This Blood." This book is written by a Catholic Cardinal who is defending the current pope's determination and viability as the leader-to-be of the up-and-coming New World Order.)

Because of scriptures such as Rev 18:1-4, & Mat 23:34-35 we know that God punishes those who merely partake in supporting that beast which is Satan's worldly kingdom, not only the leaders, but everyone who joins along with her. It is as if Jesus were saying- since you want to be a part of her, very well, but you'll have to be responsible for all of her deeds, and the punishments for them, right along with her!

This same concept, and attitude toward sinners, the servants of Satan on an individual level, is found in Rom 6:16... "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?... 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death."

Sinners don't understand why they are accused of being servants of Satan. But, God knows, and we know through the scriptures, that ultimately we all can and do only serve one of two masters- Jesus (unto righteousness and eternal life) or Satan (unto sin and eternal death). When you say something to the effect that "She Reigneth? Vatican City has no power over any other nations; it certainly does not reign over them (or the geopolitical state of the world would be very different)" it is simply the same as not admitting to being a partaker in the deeds of the company you have chosen to keep.

The Roman Catholic popes have a long history of claiming, and desiring, and demanding recognition to be the representatives on earth of that satanic political lineage (though not calling it such) which Jesus, through John and Daniel, has revealed as being Satan's very own kingdom, from Egypt through Babylon etc., right on down to Rome.

"The delineation of the new Rome vis-a-vis the old Rome was strengthened by two further factors. The Roman popes used the period of political confusion during the popular migrations upon Italian soil both (1) to extend- as their powers permitted- their ecclesiastical claim to dominion, which was henceforth no longer limited by the presence of an emperor; and (2) to raise as well a claim to political leadership in the West." Encyclopedia Britannica, vol. 4, pg 469.

"On the ideological basis that was created by Augustine, the judicial pretense of the 'gift of the emperor Constantine'- the donation of Constantine (a forged document that granted the papacy territorial rights to much of the Western world)- became possible, to which the later development of the papacy was connected. The Donation attempted to reconstruct the history of the Roman papacy in retrospect in order to make legitimate the newly gained ecclesiastical and political position of the popes after the extinction of the Western Roman imperial reign. According to the Donation, Constantine transferred his own imperial seat to Byzantium so that the power of the bishop of Rome should not be limited by the presence of an emperor. In this theory, the myth of Byzantium, the 'new Rome,' was reconstructed by a new myth of the Christian Rome: the Roman bishop, the new lord in the Christian Rome, had taken over all functions of the Roman Emperor through a pretended gift of the emperor himself...

"The Roman popes not only based their claim to form and lead their own church state on a spiritual-secular judicial understanding but they also created a theocracy within areas that until then were part of the provinces of the Byzantine emperor. They renounced a number of former imperial rights and claimed them for themselves. They extended the secular claim of government of the church beyond the borders of the church-state and developed the so-called theory of the two swords, stating that Christ gave the Pope not only spiritual power over the church but also secular power over the worldly kingdoms." - Encyclopedia Britannica, vol. 4, pg 512.

"Donation of Constantine... a document that discusses the supposed grant by the emperor Consantine the Great to Pope Sylvester I (314-335) and his successors of spiritual supremacy over the other great patriarchates and over all matters of faith and worship, as well as of temporal dominion over Rome and the entire western empire... Now universally admitted to be a forgery, it was regarded as genuine by both friends and enemies of the papal claims to power throughout the Middle Ages... The earliest certain appeal to it by a pope was made in 1054 by Leo IX in a letter to Michael Cerularius, the patriarch of Constantinople. From that time forward it was increasingly employed by Popes and canonists in support of the papal claims, and from the 12th century onward it became a weapon of the spiritual powers against the temporal..." -Encyclopedia Britannica, vol. III, pg 618.

Joh 18:36 "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence."

Now, since so-called "Christian Rome" is, and always has been since her inception in 325 AD, so determined to be wed to, and later to be the rightful heir of, that which Jesus calls "Satan's throne," then Jesus Christ the Righteous, is most Just in considering her as, and judging her accordingly as partakers with, that very same, throne of Satan...

Rev 18:4 "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities."

Rev 2:20 "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou (allow) that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication (sleeping with the enemy- in Satan's bed, in his kingdom), and to eat (partake and digest of) things sacrificed unto idols (falsehoods). 21 And I gave her space (time- thousands of years in "Christian" Rome's case) to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children (the Protestants who have accepted her pagan Trinity doctrine) with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works."

Yet to this day, God has mercy, compassion, and forgiveness ready and available in His heart, and His arms are yet open (to individuals only, not to the institution). All at the simple cost of repentance!
