Adam's Only Alibi

That the Roman doctrine of Transubstantiation is common to Romanism and Paganism is not disputed by Rome.

That the Roman doctrines and practices bear little resemblance to that of the Biblical testimonies, is, simply, irrefutable...

The Lord's supper in scripture vs. Roman Catholic traditional mass

"The bread was broken vs. The bread is served whole, round

Was taken at night vs. Taken early in the morning

Taken after a meal vs. Partaker must be fasting

Instituted by Jesus vs. A mixture of paganism

Bread and cup represent the Lord's body and blood vs. Bread and wine are said to become flesh and blood

Both bread and fruit of the vine were taken vs. Only the bread may be eaten by the congregation

Representative of a finished work, a perfect sacrifice vs. Each mass is supposed to be a fresh sacrifice of Christ

A simple blessing was given over the elements vs. Long prayers are chanted for the living and the dead

Featured the simplicity of a common meal vs. Elaborate ritualism, rites"

-Roman Catholicism: A Biblical Analysis, By: Brian Schwertley

The above more than amply demonstrates that, rather than worship in spirit and in truth, Rome has opted, contrarily and consistently, to substitute carnality and falsehood at practically every possible opportunity.

Joh 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

When confronted with the evidence that Romanism has mixed (compromised or "harlotted") Christianity with paganism, in the worship of God, what is the Roman Church's reply? What is her justification? What is her excuse?

Does she attempt to quote scriptures that prove her doctrines harmonize all the scriptures together, as the Bible says to do?

Joh 5:39 "Search the scriptures; for... they are they which testify of me."

2Ti 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

2Ti 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

Jam 3:17 "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."

No!

One Romanistic answer is (something to the effect) that non-Catholics also practice pagan customs, like giving wedding rings in marriage ceremonies. First off, let us remember, that wedding rings are not used in anyway as a ritual done in worship to God. What Rome is accused of is usurping Christian Biblical doctrines and practices with pagan ones.

Joh 4:23 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

There is no scripture against following pagan examples in areas that are not specifically done in worship to God.

1Co 10:23 "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not... 25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:... 28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not..."

Rom 14:14 "I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean."

The simple, but most important fact, which Rome appears to belittle or deny, is that giving wedding rings compromises, or makes of none effect, no scriptural commandment (such as the doctrine of "the Real Presence" does compromise the scriptures I gave above- Act 15:29, Joh 6:63, Mat 13:34, Act 17:24).

All that the Catholics really have done, in such excuses and justifications such as the "wedding rings" defense, is nothing more than saying- "they do it also"!

Pointing fingers at others, to justify your own misdeeds, even if that other person coerced you into doing something, will never justify your actions before God. This kind of an excuse didn't save Adam from getting kicked out of the garden, so it sure isn't going to save Catholics from getting kicked out of God's kingdom, either!

Mat 24:50 "The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Gen 3:12 "And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat."

1Co 15:22 "For as in Adam all die..."

Joh 8:39 "...Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham... 41 ye do the deeds of your father."

If pointing fingers at others didn't work for Adam, even when Eve actually did entice him, and she actually did commit the same error, it won't work for Rome either. Especially since most non-Catholics, this one included, haven't done as they in substituting pagan doctrines for Biblical ones in the worship of God.

Jer 2:13 "For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water."

Now, are you sure you still want to call the Roman priests your fathers, and follow their deeds? Are you still so sure you want to follow after Rome in making the commandments of God of none effect through her traditions?

Let's look at another example of Rome's type of alibi...
