Am I my brothers keeper?

Remember, these are the words, and attitude, of the first murderer mentioned in the Bible…

Gen 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. 9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? 10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

There are just a few points I'd like to remind you of.

1) Friends don't let friends drive drunk.

Would you say to a member of "Mother's Against Drunk Driving" for example- " Live and let live, man."?

If it's true in the natural, why is it so hard to understand in the spiritual? Do you think that people who are living their lives as drunks are really living? Do you think you would be doing them a favor if you didn't try to point out to them how to get out of their drunkenness, but especially out of drinking and driving where they may hurt others? Should we just let them drive around drunk until they kill some innocent soul?

Just because you think you are fine running around telling everybody to just live and let live, doesn't mean that really is living. Receiving the true infilling of the Holy Ghost, and living wholly for God, that is what life and living is truly all about. Everything else is for those who can't face, or can't handle the truth.

Ezek 33:9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Ezek 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

2) Men are to proud to stop and ask directions

We laugh about how silly men are when they are to proud to just stop and ask directions. Some times they are so proud they actually get belligerent about it. How foolish they look. Driving around in circles, wasting time, making themselves actually look sillier, rather than making them look independent as they think they are.

If it's true in the natural, how much more in the spiritual?

Do YOU KNOW how to go through life without ever causing hurt to anyone else? For that matter, do you KNOW that you are living life to it's fullest right here and now? Or are you guessing, and hoping it'll work out?

The fact is, you and I can't POSSIBLY know the ramifications of all our actions on others. Do you care? Do you care if you, while driving around drunk, afraid to ask directions, happen to run somebody over? Is the excuse "I didn't mean to" good enough? Not if the reason you didn't find the right way was simply because in your pride you simply refused to ask for directions, thinking everything will work out. Not if the directions were there all along for the taking and all you really had to do was ask, and follow them, but your silly pride kept you from asking.

Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

3) When all else fails, read the directions.

Why wait?

You know, people who are drunk, and just want to remain drunk, and who don't appreciate they who are sober telling them to sober up likewise, they all basically have the same attitude- leave me alone, this is my life, live and let live man.

Ezek 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

5) Live and let live? As a matter of fact, it just so happens, He came that we may have life!

Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Mark 10:29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

2 Cor 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart… 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: 8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.… 11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. 12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

2 Cor 3:13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:… 18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Cor 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

1 Pet 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

May God bless you one day with His precious Holy Spirit, that you too, may know this glorious life in Him, freed from the shackles of bondage to your sins!

Mat 1:21 …and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Rom 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

So yes, let's live, and let live, man!

God bless!
