Repentance check #2- Is the equipment plugged-in to the correct power supply?

Will any old power source do? No more in the spiritual than in the natural. Here, in America, there are 110 volt circuits, there are 220 volt. There are also different amp ratings, meaning different configurations of plugs. (If you get these wrong, you could either get no power, or you could get a short- by crossing a spiritual question, with an entirely different spiritual answer.) It's also possible to have live and dead circuits, etc.

We need to check who or what is the power supply you are plugging into!

1Co 8:6 "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge..."

Eze 14:1 "Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me. 2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 3 Son of man, THESE MEN HAVE SET UP THEIR IDOLS IN THEIR HEART... SHOULD I BE ENQUIRED OF AT ALL BY THEM? 4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart..., and cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh ACCORDING TO the multitude of HIS IDOLS;"

To say that He will answer according to their idols, is to say that the Lord won't answer a word! That's because IDOLS DON'T SPEAK...

Psa 115:4 "Their idols are... THE WORK OF MEN'S HANDS. 5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: 6 They have ears, but THEY HEAR NOT: noses have they, but they smell not: 7 They have hands, but THEY HANDLE NOT: feet have they, but they walk not: NEITHER SPEAK THEY through their throat. 8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them."

For example, if we should say something to the effect of- "God is like this wall, and I will now talk to this wall." Should that wall now begin to talk to you because YOU have decided to call it God? Or should God then become the wall? I should think not.

This may seem silly, and yet many of us ACTUALLY DO things just like this when we set up preconceived notions of how God is to be before allowing Him to describe Himself and His ways to us. For this reason, though many even claim, or appear to pray with a... "genuine and heartfelt desire to achieve communication with God. NOTHING HAPPENS." They "do not get ANYTHING. No voices in the head, no visions, no mystical insights, no shifts in perception, no gradual realizations, no road to Damascus, nothing, nada, zip, zilch, a big fat cosmic zero." (This is quoted from Jack, by the way.)

Here's some more of my response to Jack...

So, a man goes and talks to a wall, and says- "God, show me who you are." And the wall says nothing. One of us says, "See- the wall is no God. If it was, it would talk. But the wall doesn't want to play with me."

The other one says- "*I* must be wrong. This must just be a wall, and God must be somewhere else. I will ask again for God to show me where He is UNTIL He shows me, because He wouldn't have brought me this far to leave me now."

Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, AND that he is a rewarder of them that DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM."

So, step #2 in our repentance check, is making sure that we are allowing GOD to make the definition TO US of whom He is, and that WE aren't demanding that He be something He is NOT!

Isaiah 55:7 "Let the wicked FORSAKE HIS WAY, AND the unrighteous man HIS THOUGHTS: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 FOR MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS, NEITHER ARE YOUR WAYS MY WAYS, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR WAYS, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Again, it seems silly, but people do actually set up their preconceived notions formed by their own hand or mind of nothing more than their personal opinions and philosophies. We see how quickly they become impatient waiting on God to careful prepare His words for them in the great molten calf incident of Moses' day...

Exo 32:8 "They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt."

(Remember- the Old Testament idols represent man-made falsehoods in this "spiritual" dispensation.)

We still have plenty of this type of people around today. They are actually quite prevalent at places like Cybersight here. They are easy to recognize by some of us. For one, they are people who scoff at such scriptures as...

Pro 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and LEAN NOT UNTO THINE OWN UNDERSTANDING. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and HE SHALL DIRECT THY PATHS. 7 BE NOT WISE IN THINE OWN EYES: fear the LORD, and depart from evil."

Col 2:6 "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 BEWARE LEST ANY MAN SPOIL YOU THROUGH PHILOSOPHY AND VAIN DECEIT, AFTER THE TRADITION OF MEN, AFTER THE RUDIMENTS OF THE WORLD, AND NOT AFTER CHRIST. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:"

The point is- if you don't understand everything today, that's ok, the answer will come through praying, studying God's word, and waiting/trusting on God for His time.

Just REMEMBER, WHATEVER YOU DO...
